I have been off of the World Race and back in the states for 3 months. As soon as I got back I started working as much as I could.   I was in other countries for a year, but my bills didn’t stop.  I quickly realized that life in America did not freeze like I imagined it did.

Then I moved to Georgia 2 months ago and got a part time job nannying for a family in the area.

When I got to Georgia I had to get some work done on my car and the mechanic told me I would need new tires within a month.

Last week I was driving home from a friend’s house and as I drove I began praying for tires or for money… not that someone would pay my bills, but that I could just get a little help. When I got home some friends were over talking by the fire in the backyard. I went out to hang out for a bit.  I came in about an hour later and I checked the mail.  I usually don’t have any mail so I was a little surprised when my roommate said I had something.

It was a letter from a friend. I opened it and there was a note that said… “We’re praying for you in this season, that even though it’s not one of material excess, that you would experience God in abundance,” and a check for $100. I fought back tears and immediately started thanking God.  He answered my prayer before I prayed it.

The Lord invited me to CGA and I fully trust that He will provide.  There have been many times in the last few weeks I have told my roommates that this is not a season where we will live in excess as far as money goes.  So for this season I will continue to to seek the tree of knowledge in CGA and work part time getting to love on a family that needs Jesus. Because people are fruit not money. And I have a God who made me and knows what I need before I ask.

“O Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!”

Psalm 139:1-6

In this season I will continue to pray an abundance of love, humility, grace, growth, and God over myself.

We’re doing the thing in Georgia!

Much love, Carson
