For the past 2.5 months I have had the beautiful opportunity to teach, serve, disciple and lead 10 awesome humans. They are funny, encouraging, hungry to grow, kind, weird (in the best way), and full of Jesus.

(Today we had an alien-themed birthday party for one of the girls turning 19.  I love these weirdos so much! They make my life so much more fun!)

Last week in class we had them vision cast their lives.  That means we had them pray and ask the Lord about their future then create a speech about where they are now and where they are going in the future.  They got to tell us about their purpose and their Kingdom dreams.  The goal was for them to figure out what they are doing with their lives, make a practical plan of how to get there, and inspire the class while they talk about it.

Y’all let me tell you… 2 months ago we taught the class about public speaking and then had them give speeches. Many of them were nervous and anxious about standing in front of the class.

However, the people that stood in front of me last week and dreamed out loud are different people than they were 2 months ago. Man did the Holy Spirit show up as they spoke.  They are different humans. The room felt so different. They are becoming so much more of their real true selves. And they look so much more comfortable and natural speaking in front of the class. As I watched in awe, so proud of the growth that I have gotten to see right in front of me, I am reminded of this quote…

“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”

I have watched these 10 people walk into healing and restoration, find who they are in the Lord, and realize just how much Papa loves them. They are becoming more of who the Lord inherently made them to be.

I am so grateful and humbled that the Lord has given me the responsibility to lead and love them.  It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly even if it is heavy at times.

I am excited to see as their dreams one day become a reality as they step into leading others in the mission field by squad leading, opening their own businesses to fly helicopters, creating safe houses for the abused, bringing unity and the Gospel to corporate America, taking on the character of Jesus, and going home to be Jesus to their families. These people have big things ahead of them.

They are going to change the world.

We’re doing the thing in Georgia!

Much love, Carson

As I continue my time with Adventures in Missions, I am currently looking for monthly donors. Would you prayerfully consider becoming a monthly donor of $25, $50, $100, or $200 a month or giving a one time donation?

If you would like to partner with me you can go to the “donate” tab on my blog at carsonshock.adventurescga.org and click the “monthly” option.

I currently have a team of 9 people who partner with me by donating monthly so that I am able to work with CGA Apprentices. I need $400 more a month to be fully funded.

If you would like more information or just want to catch up please feel free to message me at [email protected]
